Terms of use
Last updated November 7, 2026
These terms cover your use of Mud, the website at mudstudio.io and the Mud app, run by Joseph Lee in New York ("we"). By using Mud you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Mud.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use Mud. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens on your account. One person per account, and please don't pretend to be someone else, including a studio you don't manage.
Your content
You own the photos, pieces, notes and reviews you post. By posting, you let us store, display and share them on Mud publicly, and make the copies and resized versions needed to do that. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared or that remain briefly in backups. Only post what you have the right to post.
Be kind
Don't post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or misleading, don't spam, and don't try to break, scrape or overload Mud. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and anyone can report something that looks wrong.
Glazes, clays and studios
Product details in the glaze and clay library come from manufacturers' and suppliers' public websites, and studio details from studios' own sites and listings. We link back to the source. Brands and product names belong to their owners, and listing them doesn't mean they endorse Mud. Information can be out of date or wrong; check with the supplier or studio before you buy or book, and tell us about mistakes.
Food safety: whether a glaze is safe for food or drink depends on your clay, how you apply it and how you fire it. Any food-safe claim on Mud is the maker's claim, not ours. Test your own work before using it for food or drink.
No warranties
Mud is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from content other people post or from relying on library or studio information. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $50.
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or change or stop Mud, and we'll give notice where we reasonably can.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll update the date above and let you know on the site. Continuing to use Mud means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Questions: joey@mudstudio.io. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
